Graham County Electric Co-op (GCEC) and Graham County Utilities (GCU) provide a $500 scholarship to each of the local high schools; Ft. Thomas, Mt. Graham, Pima, Safford, Thatcher, and Willcox.  If you are a senior high school student living within GCEC/GCU’s service territories, purchasing electricity, gas or water you are eligible to apply.  If you have a financial need, have applied yourself in the classroom, and have a strong desire to continue your education, please contact your high school counselor department for more information. 

For 2016 GCEC and GCU a total of $2,500 in scholarships to five local high schools. The recipients of those scholarships were: Greg Smith, Safford High School; Corrie Hawkins, Thatcher High School; Camryn Wilson, Pima High School; Alexandra Alvarado, Mt. Graham High School; Deidra Chase and Savannah Talgo, Ft. Thomas High School.
