Scholarships

• In 2017 a foundation was formed from unclaimed capital credits and Operation Round Up funds from Graham County Electric Co-op (GCEC)
• The GCEC Foundation provides a $1,000 scholarship to each of the local high schools:
  • Ft. Thomas, Mt. Graham, Pima, Safford, Thatcher, and Willcox (some schools elect to split the funds)

Eligibility for Scholarships

• If you are a senior high school student living within GCEC’s service territories, purchasing GCEC electricity and/or water, you are eligible to apply

How to Apply

If you have a financial need, have applied yourself in the classroom, and have a strong desire to continue your education, please follow these instructions for your high school or contact your high school counselor for more information.

Ft. Thomas High School

• Fill out the Ft. Thomas Scholarship Application (PDF)

• Deadline: April 1, 2026

Mt. Graham High School

Pima High School

• Fill out the Pima Scholarship Application (PDF)
• Email Katie Williams the completed application or hand it in to her at school, before the April 1, 2026, deadline

Safford High School

• The school notifies the seniors of information
• Fill out the Safford High School Foundation Scholarship Application (PDF) and turn in a hard copy to Melanie Allen

• Deadline for the 2026 in-house scholarship is April 1, 2026

Thatcher High School

• Information for scholarships is in your school email
